appeal
14 Jul 2011You can appeal against a negative decision or refusal of an immigration application if you are granted a right of appeal. You will be informed in the written decision if you have a right of appeal and the deadline within which you to lodge the grounds. If you do not have a legal representative then your first point of contact once you receive your immigration decision should be an immigration solicitor or immigration lawyer who can explain the reasons for the decision and advise you on the grounds of which to lodge the appeal. At this stage several factors come in to play including time as there is usually a deadline to respond, providing relevant information and instructions and obtaining advice on costs.
